Analyze the use of literary techniques, like symbolism, and irony.

Strategic reading: Use a range of strategies before, during, and after reading to construct.

Monitor understanding by questioning and summarizing as you read

Confirm and extend the meaning after reading by making inferences and connections

Personal response and evaluation: Explain and support personal responses to texts with evidence and reasoning.

Challenge personal assumptions and show awareness of different points of view.
