French 9 focuses on the important use of the language to perform realistic tasks, sharing ideas, and recieving information. The course uses the "Vista Higher Learning" "VHL" an online program called “D’ Accord”. The program goes over skills of language learning through reading and writing tasks including some oral activities. Each unit will cover a different theme which represents useful vocab and grammar structures along with cultural parts to the subject.
To summarize, the second year of French simply enhances your skill by improving in using vocabulary and grammar structures to make your French knowledge more detailed.
French 10 is a 4-credit course where students will participate in interactions using memorized vocab and structures. You will further develop descriptive skills so you can better describe the French language. Also, you get progress in linking narrations. They work with a variety of French media and the Internet to locate info to complete various tasks. As their usability with French increases, students become able to provide more detailed oral, visual, and written responses. They are exposed to a big range of French's creative works, and they expand their knowledge of francophone customs and culture within the study of the language.
To summarize, the third year of French mainly enhances your skill of the french language orally, written, and visually.
FRENCH 11
French 11 is a 4-credit course that counts towards the graduation portfolio in B.C. high schools. The course uses the Vista Higher Learning "VHL" online program called “D’ Accord”. The program covers the main skills of language learning through reading and writing tasks as well as oral activities. The course consists of five units that are each developed around a theme which presents useful vocabulary and grammar with cultural components. At the end of the course, a key project is presented as a culminating assignment.
To summarize, the second last year of your French journey in high school uses themes around units to make your knowledge of all your French learning stay memorative to you.
French 12 is a 4-credit course. The course uses the Vista Higher Learning "VHL" online program called “D’ Accord”. This is your last course of French, so you go over the remaining part of the course. The course consists of five units that are each developed around a theme which presents useful grammar structures along with cultural components. At the end of the course, a key audio-visual project is presented as a culminate project.
FRENCH 12


French 8 mainly focuses on simplistic basics to help you understand faster. When you start the course, you will acquire language through listening, repeating, and reading. You will be able to use vocabulary and grammar acquired in the contecnt of stories to communicate in casual situations. You will practice correct pronounciation. You will explore and share information about francophone communities around the world.
To summarize, the first year of French courses are purposed to give a slight introduction to your life of French.
